Just a little update

Since my last post. . . which was a little over 2 months ago, a lot has been going on! I had surgery, it went well. I'm just about back to 100%. I will admit, have been struggling to keep up with all the incoming project requests, while trying to take care of my family during my recovery. It's been quite interesting at times! I have actually been very busy, churning out invitation designs left and right! Thanks to all of you that have been patient with me and my slower than normal turn-around.

I would like to take this time to remind you that I prefer to have your invitation order at least a month in advance, that is a month before you need to mail them- not a month before the event. I have a running waiting list at this time. As soon as I get your email with ALL of your event information including any pictures you want to use, I add your name to the list. And I work down the list in the order I receive them.

As the holiday's approach things are going to be getting even busier, my schedule will be like most of yours- absolutely crammed full! I will try my best to accommodate your requests, but please remember that I am a full-time working mom and my family and personal life do dictate the length of time that I have to work on projects. Thanks in advance for understanding!

My nephew Archer is such a cutie pie! I can't believe he is a year old! His party was really cute! The invitations were designed to match the plates and napkins. His mom and dad call him "Little Monkey" all the time, so it was fitting that he had a Monkey themed party! I think I did a pretty good job replicating the monkeys (see the pic of the party supplies below)!

We hosted a couples baby shower for some of our best friends back in November and had a blast! I got the color scheme from some napkins I found at Target! I tell you inspiration is everywhere! Fall is my favorite time of year, so it wasn't hard to decorate for this fall colored party! I have to admit I LOVE these invitations. They were a folded design and turned out really cute and pretty funny!

From the beginning. . .I had JW Illustrations create some custom graphics for me. I knew I wanted to use airplanes and helicopters in the colors navy, kelly green and light blue. This is what she came up with:

I had her change the red to blue and green and I was all set to design!! I opted out of using the pilot graphics, but they are really cute!

Favor table

Favors included; airplane suckers that I made, along with personalized hershey bars, blue sippy cups with animal crackers inside, individually wrapped cookies by Christina G., Andes mints, spearmint candy and personalized hershey miniatures. I got the galvanized metal tiered tray from Pottery Barn- I just love it! Above the favor table I hung a banner I designed with the same colors and patterns used throughout the party.

I wrapped a square of foam in matching polka dot paper I created and trimmed it with ribbon and topped it with some crinkled paper shreds and stuck my suckers in the foam so that they would stand up. Worked like a charm and looked pretty cute, too!

I think the colors in the picture of the bedding from the BRU web site are a little lighter than they actually are. It is hard to see when they are this small, but the geometric border on the wall cling matches the geometric square exactly on the bedding. And the bedding and accessories have airplanes, trucks, cars and sailboats on them also.

The repeated quote on the first and third designs say: "our heart, our soul, our pride, our joy, our boy". . .isn't that sweet!! I just repeated it in different fonts to make it look a little more interesting.

I can customize these for any room and any occasion! They make great gifts! They look great over a crib or bed. They are large enough to definitely make a statement and can be used on large walls as a focal point. And don't forget they are so easy to hang and removable and reusable! No nails and no commitment! I just love this product!

It's pretty funny but I had these designed pretty much the day after we found out we were having a boy. Then when we decided on the name I plugged that in and so there wasn't much to do when we finally got home from the hospital! Since I had him 6 weeks early and spent the month before that on bed rest in the hospital, I was really happy I already had them mostly finished! I had two initial designs and just assumed that I would pick one for printing, but then after I dropped his picture in I couldn't decide so I had some of each printed! The back was the same on both; a collage of photos from Stratton's first week.

New! Wall Clings!!

I designed this . . . .

. . . . and this came in yesterday!

It looks better than I expected! The white part is just what the cling is adhered to for shipping and storage, the cling looks identical to my design above. It coordinates with the bedding for the baby's room so well! I can't wait to put it all together!! I am going to stick it over the crib, I think?

This is a new product called a wall cling. The material it is printed on is a cross between a paper and a fabric, it has a matte finish. It has a low tack adhesive on the back of the cling that sticks to any flat, smooth surface. It is easily applied and removed as many times as needed! You keep the white sheet (see pic) that the cling comes on and when you can pull it off the wall you just stick it back on the white sheet and store it till you need it again. . .I am thinking this is a great idea for art for the holidays!! I am loving that you can stick this to the wall and not have to worry about putting nail holes in the walls, and if it's crooked you just peel it off and try again!!

This is a 36"x24" size, but you can get even larger ones. I have decided that I will custom design these and sell them for $100 (for the 36"x24" size). Let me know if you are interested. And pass the word around. I am really impressed with this product and I think a lot of people will like it too! I am working on one for a little's girls bedroom right now! It's going to be super cute, it's black and white and pink!!
